The summer is upon us and it is a great time of year to be on the water. Saltwater Trout fishing this time of year can be fun and exciting if you know how to catch them. In this article I will give you some tips that will help you catch more Saltwater Trout throughout the summertime.

First of all, during the summertime, trout bite almost anything you throw at them. My personal favorite lure is the electric chicken paddle tail swim bait. This lure is deadly on trout, as well as spot tail bass throughout the summertime and into the fall. The biggest thing I do to assure a good presentation is make sure the swim bait is rigged so the brightest colors are on the top of the lure. Normal bait manufacturers make lures with the bright colors down, but I find more fish are caught if you flip the lure around. I guarantee if you follow this tip you will catch more fish and be more likely to entice a strike.

When working the lure, I like to keep it on the bottom. What you will want to do is cast the lure and let it sink to the bottom. Before you make your retrieve, put your rod tip at the ten o’clock position and make a swift jerk to the twelve o’clock position. After you make your jerk motion, retrieve until the line is tight. Rinse and repeat this tactic for deadly results on speckled trout.
